Functional Components vs. Class Components

Components in React can be written in two ways: as functions or as classes.

Functional components are simple JavaScript functions that return a React element. They are more concise and easier to understand. For example:

function Welcome(props) {
  return <h1>Hello, {props.name}</h1>;
}

On the other hand, class components are created by extending the React.Component class and require the implementation of the render() method. They have state and lifecycle methods. For example:

class Welcome extends React.Component {
  render() {
    return <h1>Hello, {this.props.name}</h1>;
  }
}

Functional components are recommended for simple components that do not need state or lifecycle methods.

On the other hand, class components offer more features, such as local state and lifecycle methods, making them ideal for complex components that need state management and more advanced interactions.

It’s important to choose the appropriate type of component for each situation, considering simplicity and the need for specific features.

Both types have their place in React development and can be used together to create powerful and efficient applications.
